Kumaran (invitee) * Condolence note on Prof. Anil Kumar's death to be prepared by FA and personally delivered to the family. FA to offer all help in expediting matters relating to benefits to be received from IISc. Ec requests Prof. Umarji to meet the family and personally deliver the note. Need to check if Gajendra Barik is entrusted to take care of expediting IISc's response. * Minutes of the previous GBM to be put on the web. * Housing: + Details of the X plan needed + Shortfall of about 200 houses. Ask for 140 E-type. Kumaran, Murthy and Anindya to prepare a document to be given to the Director + Murthy presented a pending item with the Housing allotment Committee regarding the error in allocating an E-type quarter to Prof. Govindarajan, SERC. Prof. Govindarjan has been asked to move to a D-type house. EC requests all faculty to co-operate with the administration. EC also would like to stress that such lapses should not repeat in future. + IISc has proposed that an affidavit has to be signed by every member seeking campus housing. EC agrees to the content of the affidavit. * Payments to Faculty: EC desires that a copy of each advice to be sent to each faculty within a month * Traffic: FA could nominate a person to be on the traffic committee * Medical plan: + A view was expressed that Faculty cannot pull out of the plan of IISc + FA needs to gather market intelligence about various insurance plans to explore if better options are available. Debasis and Abinandanan to gather information * Creche: Improvements needed. More space. More help. Venkataraman to prepare a note. * Internet: Rudra Pratap to be contacted for a note on the requirements * FA awards: EC proposes to institute awards + for excellence in teaching + for the Employee of the Year + Jayant and Umapathy to prepare the guidelines * Networking alumni: + EC was briefed about the IISc heritage Fund which is a non-profit society registered in the US. Prof. Kaialth, Stanford University is the President. But he wants to close it due to lack of other volunteers and interest from IISc. To be discussed with the Director.
